Mooring Hitch

The mooring hitch can be used to tie a guy line to a peg, picket or post that has been driven into the ground.

Start by making a round turn around the post with the working end passing under the standing part of the rope. Then place a single hitch over the top by lifting the working end up and twisting it over the top of the post.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
